Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho – The College Idaho defeated Northwest University in straight sets, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-14), tonight for a Cascade Conference victory.

Led by Abbey Fenton's 17 kills, the Yotes also totaled seven team blocks while hitting .305 as a team.

Northwest U battled back from a 16-12 deficit in the first set to pull to within two, 20-21, on a kill by Mattie Jo Johnson. The Yotes then got two kills, one from Katy Robinson and another from Abbey Fenton to lead 23-20. Amanda Waterman would make it a two point set, 21-23, but a Jackie Vliet kill and Kilee Lopez service ace would end tightly contested set.

The Eagle would compete hard in the second set and two Amanda Waterman kills and one by Hannah Hanson would make it a 12-13 set with C of I leading. The Yotes would then outscore NU 6-3 to lead 19-15 after another Fenton kill and C of I would go on to with the set, 25-20.

In the final set, the College of Idaho would outscore NU 15-9 in the early going to take the lead.  Four straight Eagle errors would give C of I an 18-11 lead and NU would not be able to pull any closer as the Yotes would close out the set and the match, 25-14.

Amanda Waterman led Northwest U (8-5, 4-3 CCC) with 12 kills and 5 digs. Morgan Pilon would finish with 22 assists and Emmaline Stockton would lead the Eagles with 16 digs.

In addition to Abbey Fenton's 17 kills, the College of Idaho's (6-8, 4-2 CCC) Katy Robinson added 9 kills. Sierra Porter had a match high 41 assists and Kilee Lopez led the Yotes with 13 digs.

From NU coach, Steve Bain, "The College of Idaho was clearly the better team on this night. They won the serving and passing battle and out played us in just about every phase of the game. The season is still young though, and I know our players will continue to work hard and commit to the mental and physical effort to make changes and improve."

Northwest U returns home and will host Northwest Christian and Corban next weekend on Friday and Saturday.
