Battlin' Bears Shut Out Eagles in Billings

Daniel Christenson returned to play today with seven saves
Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – No. 21 Rocky Mountain College scored two goals in each half to earn a 4-0 shutout over Northwest U this afternoon on Herb Klindt Field.
 
RMC's first goal came on a set piece off a free kick when Tulio Melo placed a pass to the left side of the goal from the right where Marco Kummerle one touched it into the goal. Daniel Christenson had just come up with a great save on a penalty kick by RMC's Luca Wiechers just two minutes before the goal.
 
Rocky Mountain had a near goal in the 38th minute, but Nolan Sherwood's shot hit the cross bar.  In the 44th minute Chasen Lasure scored the Battlin' Bears second goal off an assist and pass from Gregor Watson.
 
The Bears made it 3-0 at the 49:43 mark on Chase Lasure's second goal of the game and then put the game away in the 66th minute when Nolan Sherwood scored his first of the game.
 
Daniel Christenson made 7 saves in goal for the Eagles (9-6, 5-5 CCC). NU was limited to 5 shots by the RMC defense with Kyle Zimmerman taking 2 shots, both shots on goal.
 
For CCC's first place team, Rocky Mountain (10-3-1, 8-3-1 CCC), Cole Catlin earned the win in goal for the Battlin' Bears finishing with 4 saves while teammate Nolan Sherwood took 5 shots, three shots on goal. RMC was whistled for 14 fouls to the Eagles 8.
 
Northwest U now makes the 10 hour bus trip to Caldwell, Idaho for a Sunday match-up with the College of Idaho in Simplot Stadium at 12 p.m.
