Eagles Fly Over Yotes

Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho – Two first half goals would help lift the NU Eagles to a 3-1 Cascade Conference victory over host College of Idaho this afternoon in Simplot Stadium.
 
Branson Corwin got Northwest U off to a fast start with an unassisted goal just 3:47 into the game as his shot from 15 yards out on the left would find the top right corner of the net.
 
Kyle Zimmerman would make it a 2-0 game in the 18th minute as Corwin would set him up with a cross to Zimmerman who would finish from 10 yards out and into the center of the net.
 
The College of Idaho would cut the Eagles' lead to 2-1 at the 74:38 mark when Carter Perry would beat NU goalkeeper Daniel Christenson one-on-one from 10 yards out.
 
Senior Kieren Raney would then give NU a little room at 77:58 as his shot would hit the back post and bounce in for the goal and a 3-1 Eagle lead. The NU defense would allow just one more C of I shot the remainder of the game as they would post the win.
 
Northwest U (10-6, 6-5 CCC) outshot C of I 21-8 with a solid defensive performance. Daniel Christenson posts the win in goal making 3 saves for the day. Jacob Weaver and Chris Iacolucci led NU with 4 shots each.
 
Grant Billings took the loss in goal for the Yotes (4-10, 3-8 CCC) totaling three saves.
