Eagles and Yotes Battle to 0-0 Tie in Double Overtime

Kat Sanchez came up with 12 saves 110 minutes of play today
Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho - The NU Eagles and College of Idaho battled to a scoreless 0-0 tie in double overtime with both teams making timely saves to prevent scores.
 
The teams combined for 42 shots in the game with Eagle goalkeeper, Kat Sanchez making 12 saves in goal while the Yotes' keeper, Brittany Houghton, came through with 9 saves. Sanchez came through with two critical saves in the second half to prevent C of I scores on what looked to be certain scores from point blank range.
 
The College of Idaho scored what might have been the game winner in the 73rd minute, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside call on the Yotes.  NU had two shots on goal in the 88th and 89th minute but both were stopped by Yote keeper, Houghton. Sanchez made a save on Hailey Woods shot at the 84:32 mark to preserve the shutout.
 
In the first overtime period, C of I took two shots while their defense did not allow an Eagle shot. But, in the second overtime, Northwest U picked up their offensive pressure taking six shots, but none would find the mark. C of I took three shots with Sanchez making two saves.
 
Northwest U (9-4-2, 5-2-2 CCC) was led by Bailey Travis's 5 shots, 3 on goal as the College of Idaho defense did a solid job limiting Jubilee Zevenbergen to just one attempt.
 
Maddie Brown and Katelyn Benavidee each had four shots for the Yotes (7-5-2, 3-4-2 CCC) while the College of Idaho took 7 corner kicks to the Eagles' 5.
