SOU Holds On to Edge Eagles

NU keeper, Lauren Hellum had three saves today
Box Score ASHLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon's goal in the 18th minute would stand up as Southern Oregon defeated the NU Eagles, 1-0, to remain unbeaten and improve to 6-0 in conference play. SOU goalkeeper Kylie Moltzen kept the Eagles from scoring with seven saves for the game.

Megan McArthur scored her 8th goal of the season at the 17:22 mark as she scored from 20 yards out with a left foot shot just inside the right post. Lauren Aldana had the assist on the play.

Northwest U's defense was strong limiting the Raiders to just seven shots for the game and Eagle goalkeeper, Lauren Hellum came up with three saves. Offensively, NU outshot SOU 11 to 7, but it was Moltzen's play in goal which kept seven Eagle shots on goal from getting into the net. Rylie Rassier led NU with three shots, two on goal. Madison Nortune's shot in the 76th minute was stopped by Moltzen and two corner kicks would not yield a score in the 82nd and 83rd minute of the game.

Said NU head coach, Bryan Chud, "I am very proud of the way we played today against a very tough opponent. I thought we played the better soccer for most of the match, but Southern scored and we found ourselves chasing the game trying to break through a packed defense. This was a tough result for us, but we will respond on Friday!"

Northwest U will be back in action for their final home games next weekend when they host Great Falls and Carroll College at home.
