HERMISTON, Oregon - The NU Eagles begin competition in the 2016 Cascade Conference Track & Field Championships today. The meet will be held at Hermiston High School and is hosted by Eastern Oregon University.
Last year, Eastern Oregon's men's team won the title after a close finish, earning 165 points to sneak past Concordia at 160 and Southern Oregon at 158 points. EOU also landed the track athlete of the meet in Ryan Rosenau and the field... athlete of the meet in Travis Simpson.
On the women's side, College of Idaho continued their dominance last year when they won their third straight CCC title with 180 points. C of I's Tiana was the field athlete of the meet a season ago and has already earned her team points after finishing as this year's heptathlon champion a few weeks ago. NU's
Kaisa Hall placed fourth in the heptathlon.
The events begin a 2 p.m. this afternoon with the women's high jump and NU's
Kaisa Hall will be competing for the Eagles. The women's shot put follows soon after with
Tristan Walks entered in the event for NU.
