Ferguson Wins CCC 800m Title; Eagles Compete on Final Day

HERMISTON, Ore. - Jonathan Ferguson capped off an outstanding senior outdoor season by capturing the CCC 800m title in an exciting finish over Gary Fanelli of Southern Oregon. Ferguson broke away with 150 meters to go, held the lead and edged out Fanelli at the finish line by .34 seconds. Jonathan crossed the line at 1:55.01 with Fanelli close by at 1:55.35.

Brian Guisinger took 11th in the 800m just getting ed...ged out for 10th by a mere .32 seconds by Aidan Paulk of SOU. Guisinger ran a 1:59.86.

Lily Engelbrekt took 6th in the women's 800m event with her time of 2:17.54 bettering her previous best of 2:19.72. Amanda Welch of Eastern Oregon barely beat out Engelbrekt for 5th by just .04 seconds.

The women's 4X400 relay bettered their previous best by nearly 10 seconds as they took 4th place with a time of 4:04.37. The men's 4X400 was a 7th place finisher with a time of 3:31.52, two seconds better than their qualifying time.

CarrieAnne Steele came away with 5th place in the triple jump with a leap of 10.30m (33-09.50). Michelle Perez took 9th in the women's 100m dash, running the event for the first time this season. Perez broke the tape at 13.25 just .21 seconds behind the 8th place finisher.

Sharaya Roberts was 8th in the discus with a throw of 32.88m (107-10). Sarah Estabrook was 8th in the 5000m with her time of 18:28.78.

Dean Willis ran a 16:05.66 in the men's 5000m run for 19th place.

Kaisa Hall then threw the javelin 28.18m (92-05) for 11th place in the event. Hall also tied for eighth in the high jump clearing a height of 1.45m (4-9).

The College of Idaho defended their women's championship for the fourth year in a row over second place Eastern Oregon. The NU women took 7th place.

On the men's side, Southern Oregon took the team title defeating Eastern Oregon 189-187 for total points. The Eagle men tied for eighth place with Warner Pacific.
