Eagle Volleyball Opens Play Tonight

KIRKLAND, Wash.- The NU Eagle volleyball team opens their 2016 season tonight at 7:30 pm when they host the Carroll College Fighting Saints from Helena, Mont., and the Frontier Conference.

The Saints were 19-12 last season, 9-3 in conference play, tied for the league title and made it to the semifinals of the Frontier Conference post season tournament. Carroll will be one of the bigger teams NU will face as the Saints have 6-4 outside hitter, Marija Nicksic and 6-3 middle hitter, Mallory Arbizzani. They also have three players at 6-1 and four at 6-0 on their roster. CC is led by Maureen Boyle, now in her 12th season as the head coach of the Saints.

The Eagles are coming off one of teir best seasons posting a 20-10 overall record and 14-6 mark in CCC play. Five seniors lead the way for coach Steven Bain: Leia Roy, Hannah Hanson, Lara Linden, Mattie Keltner, and Dakota Adams. NU lost just one player to graduation last season in Christina Gleb.
