Kat Sanchez of the NU Eagles has been named the Red Lion women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week. This marks the second time this season Kat has been voted the award winner.
Sanchez, a sophomore goalie from Arlington, Wash., was stellar in goal for the entire 180 minutes of the weekend. Against SOU she allowed only one goal while recording seven saves in the victory.
Against Oregon Tech Sanchez earned a shutout as the Eagles prevailed 1-0. The Eagles picked up two wins improving to 7-6 for the season and 4-3 in the conference, tying them with Providence for 6th in the conference standings.
