Box Score HELENA, Mont. – A stingy Carroll College defense held Northwest U scoreless for 90 minutes in a 1-0 victory this afternoon.
After a scoreless first half and with temperatures in the high 40's and windy conditions the Fighting Saints scored the lone goal of the game at the 57:02 mark when Mikayla Welch scored unassisted scoring from the top of the right side from 25 yards out.

NU's
Bailey Travis came close to scoring in the 75th minute, but her shot on goal was saved by the Carroll goalkeeper.
Two Eagle shots came late in the game in an attempt to tie the score, but
Jubilee Zevenbergen's shot in the 84th minute sailed high and did
Makenna Wheeler's shot at 84:37. NU also had a corner kick in the 86th minute, but failed to score.
Northwest U's (7-7, 4-4 CCC)
Kat Sanchez took the loss in goal making four saves for the game while Devan Murfett earned the shutout for Carroll (6-6-2. 2-4-2 CCC). Carroll outshot NU, 10-4 and took 6 corner kicks to the Eagle 3. NU was limited to just one shot in the first half by the Saints' defense.
The Eagles will be in Great Falls on Saturday to play the University of Providence, formally known as the University of Great Falls at 1 pm MT.
