Eagles Score Often in Victory Over Wolves

Chris Iacolucci with a hat trick today
Box Score COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The scoring dam burst on Walla Walla as the Eagles put seven goals on the scoreboard for a 7-0 shutout victory and to improve to 5-1-1 in Cascade Conference play.

It took the Eagles 21 minutes and the dam to break with their first goal, as Chris Iacolucci scored the first of his three goals as he took Lucas Alves' cross to the middle and one touched it into the net to put NU into the lead, 1-0. Just 1:45 later, Iacolucci scored his second goal as he took a through ball from Trent Siedenburg and finished into the bottom corner.

Less than two minutes later, it would be Siedenburg on the scoring end as Lucas Alves would get his second assist of the game, crossing the ball into the middle with Siedenburg volleying the ball into the bottom right corner of the net—NU 3, Walla Walla 0.

At 39:13 Obi Esonu received a pass over the top of the defense from Max Schellmann and put the ball into the lower right corner of the goal to give Northwest U a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Iacolucci would complete the hat trick in the 55th minute as Obi Esonu's cross from the left would find Iacolucci who would finish into the bottom left corner for NU's 6th goal of the game.

With NU playing their entire traveling roster, Jake Morse would make it a 5-0 game in the 61st minute as he would dribble through Wolves defenders up the middle and then to the left and put his ball into the right side of the net.

Lucas Alves would end the Eagles scoring at 69:11 taking Leon Bormann's cross from the left and score with a volley into the right side of the net.

Chris Iacolucci led the Eagles (7-3-1, 5-1-1 CCC) with his three goals on 10 shots, 6 shots on goal. Four other players had four shots as NU dominated the shot column with 39 shots to just 7 for Walla Walla. Daniel Christenson picks up his second shutout of the week.

Walla Walla U.'s (0-10, 0-9) Jordan St. George led the Wolves with 2 shots, 1 shot on goal while goalkeeper David Mizher made 8 saves in goal to take the loss.

"It's always good to get a win on the road and with a shutout is nice. It was also nice to have several different goal scorers and for Chris (Iacolucci) to score the hat trick. Overall, it was a good weekend for us and we're looking forward to be playing at home this week."
