NU XC Teams Headed to NAIA Nationals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Both the women and men's teams have earned a spot in the 2017 NAIA Cross Country National Championships when the field was named today by the national office.
 
The Eagle women join the 2017 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships field as 36 teams and 92 individuals travel to Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash. NU was awarded the Cascade Conference's host berth to the event. The 38th annual event takes place on November 18, with the women's race scheduled for 11:30 a.m. PST. This is the fifth time in NAIA Women's Cross Country Championships history that the race will be held in Vancouver, Wash.
 
On the men's side, 36 team and 87 individuals comprises the field for the 62nd Annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver on Nov. 18. The men's 8k race will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the 18th. This is the first time in school history the NU men have found a place in the nationals.
 
Six teams from the Cascade Conference have earned berths in the national races including Southern Oregon, the defending men's national champions. British Columbia is the defending champions on the women's side.
