Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The NU Eagles maintained their momentum from last night's win at SOU as they completed their second straight sweep in as many days with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-11) Cascade Conference victory on Danny Miles Court tonight. It took NU just one hour and 15 minutes to dispatch the Owls, faster than last night's match in Ashland.
The Eagles got off to a great start in set one as they would never trail. Leading by one, 9-8, NU would outscore the Owls 7-0, aided by five OIT attack errors and a kill by
Amanda Waterman to lead 16-8. OIT would hit -.174 for the set. A Waterman service ace would increase the NU lead to 20-10 as NU would go on to win the set 25-16.
The second set would be the closest of the match with 14 ties as the teams would battle back and forth. With the set tied at 22-22,
Keann White's kill and two straight Oregon Tech attack errors would end the set and make it a 2-0 lead for the Eagles the match.
NU would leave no doubt of their intent in the final set as they would power to a 21-9 lead on quick play and defense that would force OIT error after error. Solid serving by the Eagles would result in four service aces in the set. NU would end the set and match on a kill by
Mattie Jo Johnson as they would go 2-0 on the team's longest road trip of the season.
Keann White led Northwest U (11-5, 5-3 CCC) with 7 kills while hitting .333 for the three sets.
Hannah Lord and
Sarah Warner each added 6 kills with Lord also averaging .333 hitting.
Morgan Pilon and
Courteney Carr combined for 25 assists with Pilon leading the way with 14 and Carr with 11.
Alysanne Van Dyke led four Eagles in digs with 15 while teammates
Amanda Waterman and
Tatiana Ensz each adding 14 digs. NU totaled 6 service aces.
Oregon Tech (4-6, 2-4 CCC) was led by Chase Bohman's 9 kills and 8 digs. Camryn Johnson added 8 kills, but the Owls were limited to -.019 hitting as a team on the night, committing 32 errors. Waverly Green led OIT in assists with 19 with three Owls finishing with 8 digs a piece.
