Knights Shutout NU on Lone Goal

Whitney Weaver led NU with 4 shots, 3 shots on goal
Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – For the second game in a row the NU Eagles won the statistical battle, but fell short in the score as they dropped a 1-0 contest to Warner Pacific tonight. It was the third straight loss for Northwest U.
 
Northwest U dominated the game offensively with 18 shots to just four for the Knights, but it was Warner Pac getting a quality shot in the 23rd minute when Ashley Giesbers scored unassisted for the lone goal of the game. The Eagles would not be able to convert on 8 shots on goal.
 
The Eagles also held a monopoly on corner kicks with 12 to Warner Pacific's zero. Zoey Dahme was big in goal for the Knights making 8 saves for the game earning the shutout. Kat Sanchez made 3 saves for NU.
 
Whitney Weaver almost put NU on the scoreboard early in the game as her first shot at the 8:47 mark sailed wide right and her shot on goal at 9:08 was stopped by WPC keeper Dahme. Weaver led the Eagles with 4 shots, 3 on goal for the game.
 
The WPC defense was stingy not allowing an Eagle shot for 18 minutes at the end of the second half until Stephanie Wilson shot on goal at the 89:48 mark was saved by Dahme.
 
Next Up: The Eagles will play Evergreen in Olympia on Saturday, Sept. 30, in a doubleheader with the men's team.
