Caldwell, Idaho – Northwest University (3-8-4, 2-7-3 CCC) lost to the College of Idaho Yotes (6-6-2, 5-6-1 CCC) on Friday afternoon with a final score of 3-0.
Â
Alex Ballard,
Leon Bormann, and
Trent Siedenburg were the only Eagles able to get a shot on goal during the match. Although the team struggled to get the ball into the back of the net, they did not go down without a fight, shooting eight times in the match.
Â
The Yotes were able to capitalize on many of the Eagles' mistakes, scoring their first goal off a failed clearance in the 38
th minute. The Yotes scored two more in the second half to finish off the Eagles. Bekir Cinac and Jacob Hurter were the Yotes' goal scorers.
Â
This was a disappointing result for the Eagles, who were already out of playoff contention but were hoping for a positive end to the season. They still have a chance to finish well in their last game of the season against Rocky Mountain College on Sunday.
Â
Head coach
Gary McIntosh commented, "It was another tough loss for us today. We started out playing well, but we just could not sustain it. Sunday will be the seniors' last game, and we will go out fighting for them."
