Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University women's soccer (5-6-1, 4-1-1 CCC) tied Eastern Oregon (8-1-2, 4-1-2). The teams scored one goal apiece to force Northwest's first draw of the season.
Â
The Eagles started the scoring early with a 9
th minute goal by
Sharaya Roberts. The shot came off an assist from teammate
Jaclyn Metz. Less than a minute later, Eastern Oregon's Natalie Mitchell scored to tie the game. No other shots found their way to the back of the net for the rest of the match.
Â
Despite a match that was neck-and-neck throughout, the Eagles seemed to statistically dominate both periods of extra time, attempting nine more shots than the Mountaineers in these periods alone. This combined with 15 corner kicks throughout the match from the Eagles was still not enough for the Eagles to score a second, game-winning goal.

Northwest head coach
Bryan Chud commented, "Eastern Oregon is a very organized and quick team that was very dangerous on the counterattack. I felt like we controlled the match for the most part, with the exception of the last 10-15 minutes of regulation. I'm proud of the team today for the effort put forth and the way we moved the ball. It was a bit unfortunate to not get all 3 points, but overall, it is a decent result. We will look to build on it next week."
