Written by: Clayton Hashley

Springfield, Ore. – Northwest University (9-8-2) beat the higher-ranked Southern Oregon University (9-5-2) in the quarterfinals of the Cascade Collegiate Conference by a final score of 2-0.

The Eagles scored both their goals in the first half of the game, the first coming in the 18th minute when Sharaya Roberts made a through pass to Katie Michkiosky, who finished from 12 yards out. This was Michkiosky's 19th goal of the season, which breaks the all-time NU single-season women's soccer scoring record. Michkiosky also leads the conference in scoring, averaging 1.12 goals per game.

The Eagles' second goal came in the 30th minute, when Rylee Rassier hit a shot to the far post off a pass from Bailey Travis.

Northwest head coach Bryan Chud commented, "Today was a very good all-around team performance. With the exception of the first 20 minutes, we dominated play and were very good with the ball, scoring two very good goals. The team is focused and poised to go into the semifinals of this tournament with confidence."

Up next, the Eagles move on to the semifinals, where they will play the College of Idaho.
