Match 1: Northwest University 3, University of Providence 2
Due to technical difficulty, the stats for this match are forthcoming.
Head Coach Steven Bain recapped the game by stating, "As always, Providence took the court with a physically talented team and at times, we struggled to contain their attackers. However, I was pleased with our tenacity and ability to finish sets 1 and 3, which allowed us to extend the match to a fifth set. For a young team, our ladies were also able to make adjustments to the game plan that enabled us to turn the match in our favor."
Match 2: Northwest University 3, University of California Merced 0
For the first time this year, Northwest University swept their opponent in 3 games (25-20, 25-12, 25-17).
Hannah Lord led the Eagles with 10 kills on 27 attacks.
Sarah Howlett followed up with 6 kills, 6 block assists, and a .385 hitting percentage.
Dominique Andrews led the UC Merced Bobcats with 6 kills and 2 block assists. Lacey Gallagher had the highest hitting percentage on the team, hitting .333 percent. Cassandra Diaz had 16 digs on the day and served 3 aces.
After the game, Head Coach Steven Bain reported, "University of California Merced did a nice job of serving zones early in the match, which put pressure on our serve-receive and kept us out of system. We made some adjustments, though, that allowed us to stabilize our passing, and once we did, we were able to side out at a high percentage and take control of the match. Overall, the ladies continue to make progress and are working very hard to commit to the behaviors that will allow us to be successful."
