PORTLAND, Ore. – Northwest University (10-9, 6-4 CCC) was able to survive another five game battle against the Warner Pacific Knights (4-11, 3-7 CCC), winning 3-2. Coming from behind for the second night in a row, the Eagles extend their conference win streak to five.
Keann White of Northwest University had a stellar night, beating the Knights with 17 kills and 4 blocks.
Audrey Saelens held strong at the net with 7 blocks and 9 kills.
Warner Pacific's Kealia Rosa led the Knights with 45 assists, 17 digs, and 2 aces. However, that was not enough to prevent the Eagles from closing out the night winning 3-2 (25-20, 15-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-8).
Northwest head coach Steven Bain stated, "First, we have to credit Warner Pacific for the intensity and resolve they displayed on defense. They were also terrific from the service line, and for 2 and a half sets, we had no answer. Winning on the road, though, is no easy task, so to go 5 on back-to-back nights and come out with the win each time says a lot about our grit and determination. Our ladies had their own resolve, and when the match was on the line, we were able to take control and close out for the win."
