Written by: Clayton Hashley

Salem, Ore. – Northwest University (8-17, 5-10 CCC) lost the lead early in the game and couldn't come back against No. 22 Corban University (16-7, 10-3 CCC), losing 59-50.

The Warriors jumped out to an early 13-2 lead, and the game was out of the Eagles' talons from then on. The second half began with two jumpers from Northwest bigs Sam Van Loo and Miranda Langenhorst, which brought the Eagles to within one point. The Warriors immediately parried the Eagles' attack, putting together an 11-2 run, and finishing the game with the win.

Northwest's Sam Van Loo had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Miranda Langenhorst contributed nine points and nine rebounds as well.

Northwest head coach Ken Crawford remarked, "A tough loss tonight against a top 25 team. It was a close ball game throughout the entire game, but not a great shooting night for the Eagles. It was a good weekend and we continue to learn. On our way home!"
