Lady Eagles Bounce Back After a Slow First Quarter

EUGENE, Ore. – After a slow first quarter, the Northwest University (8-16, 5-9 CCC) women's basketball team bounced back to take a 65-56 victory over Northwest Christian University (8-15, 5-9 CCC).

Sam Van Loo, a freshman from Lynden, Wash. has taken major strides in the second half of the season. Van Loo led the Eagles with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Miranda Langenhorst also added to the team's success under the hoop, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Shanay Dotson from Northwest Christian University led her team with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Sarah Reinecker also added 12 points and 4 rebounds.

The improvement over the season is starting to show up in the win column for our Lady Eagles. Early in the season, we would see games with an excess of 40+ turnovers. Tonight, we had a mere 12 turnovers and found ourselves in a place to compete for a spot in the postseason. Head coach Ken Crawford commented, "It was a big win for the Lady Eagles tonight. We played hard and smart. We are looking forward to Corban tomorrow night."
