Written by: Clayton Hashley

Caldwell, Idaho – Northwest University (10-10, 2-6 CCC) went down early against No. 1 College of Idaho (16-2, 5-1 CCC) and could not finish the comeback effort, losing 81-74.

An early 13-2 run by the Yotes put them up for good, ending the first half up 36-26. Northwest fought back in the second half, coming to within four points with two minutes left in the game after a layup from Hussayn Ford. The Yotes responded with five consecutive points and two defensive stops to finish their win.

Hussayn Ford had a monster performance for the Eagles, dropping 27 points and 18 rebounds in his 13th straight double-double game. Josh Meyer and Nick Navarro also scored in double digits, with 17 and 12 apiece. Navarro added six assists, as well.

Northwest head coach Jeff Drinkwine commented, "I couldn't ask for a better effort from these guys. They really played hard. When we're playing the top team in the country, though, every possession counts, and we had a few possessions that we did not convert. It's definitely something to build on with this great group of young men."
