Rassier, Wright Get Hat Tricks in 7-0 Win

PORTLAND – Rylee Rassier and Callie Wright both posted hat tricks as Northwest took a 7-0 win at Multnomah Saturday.

For the Eagles, it was win No. 11 in a row, matching the school-record unbeaten streak of 11 games. The 2011 and 2014 teams both had such strings, but neither tied the string together with 11 wins.

Rassier scored her first goal with an assist from Wright for the game winner in the 23rd minute, and the scoreboard froze there for the rest of the half.

Rassier scored on her own in the 55th minute for the 2-0 lead.

Hannah Nicholson, who had three assists to set up all of Wright's goals, got the ball to Wright for a 3-0 lead in the 58th minute.

The combo worked again for a 4-0 lead in the 58th minute. Just 30 seconds later, that combo worked a third time to make it 5-0.

Rassier got her hat trick in the 79th minute using a feed from Olivia Morris.

MacKenzie Monten made it 7-0 as time was running out with a double assist from Morris and Peyton Manalo.

"Multnomah was well-disciplined and very difficult to break down," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "Our second half was superb, though, as we were patient and efficient with our chances. Once again, our defense was outstanding. Callie and Rylee added to their impressive goal tally, and MacKenzie scored a cracker at the end as well. I'm very proud of this team and love how eager they are to improve daily."

Kat Sanchez collected a two-save shutout for her fourth clean sheet in a row.

The Eagles outshot the Lions 27-3, with Wright taking eight shots and Rassier seven. There were 18 NU shots on goal.

Now 11-2 on the season and 7-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles go to Evergreen State in Olympia Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
