LA GRANDE, Ore. – Northwest allowed two first-half goals and came up short in the second half in a 2-1 loss at Eastern Oregon Friday.
Â
"It's another game where we did not come out to play in the first half and paid for it," said NU Coach
Gary McIntosh. "The second half was a different story, but we could not find a way to get that second goal. We have not put together two halves of soccer, and that is what is hurting us. Now, we're on to the next game."Â Â
Â
Jorge Chavez broke a scoreless tie in the 13
th minute, and Oscar Munoz made it 2-0 in the 26
th minute for the Mountaineers.
Â
Gian Herrera scored for the Eagles with an assist from

Â
The Eagles were outshot 11-6, with Herrera taking a team-high two shots.
Â
Alexander Thiehofe had a pair of saves in the setback.
Â
Now 7-7-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles play at College of Idaho at 11 a.m. (Pacific time) Saturday.
