KIRKLAND – Northwest bounced right back into the win column Saturday with a 2-0 shutout of Northwest Christian.

Leon Bormann, on a free kick, beat the wall and the NCU keeper by twisting a shot into the lower right side for the game winner in the 76
th minute.

Kyle Han put the game on ice in the 88
th minute, using a double assist from
Noah Prophet and Dmitry Zorchenko for the 2-0 lead.

"We are pleased with the result today," said NU Head Coach
Gary McIntosh. "The guys came out and played well the whole game, creating many opportunities to score. In the second half, they were rewarded with two goals for their efforts. Leon's free kick was perfect, and the cross by Noah and finish by Kyle was perfect. We are still learning to play with each other, and this is just another step in the right direction."

Alexander Thiehofe turning away four Beacon shots on goal for the shutout win.

The Eagles improve to 6-5 overall and 3-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Northwest Christian drops to 2-5 in all games and 2-4 in the CCC. Northwest University returns to action Friday at 2 p.m., taking on Warner Pacific in Portland.
