KIRKLAND – Northwest and No. 14 Corban have a volleyball history, but the Eagles plan to stay in the present when the teams meet in the first round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Salem, Oregon.

Northwest gets a chance to exorcise a postseason demon. The Warriors have knocked the Eagles out of the CCC Tournament in each of the last three seasons. The Eagles are in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament for the seventh consecutive season. They last made it to the NAIA Tournament in 2017.

A win Tuesday propels the Eagles into the CCC final site at Southern Oregon and as the lowest remaining seed would take on the hosts. Southern Oregon is the top seed in the tournament, followed by Eastern Oregon, Corban, College of Idaho, Northwest Christian, and Northwest.Â

Corban and NU split the season series, with Corban winning 3-1 in Kirkland in September and Northwest winning 3-1 in Salem in October.Â

Hannah Lord averaged 2.5 kills,
Anna Saelens 4.5 assists,
Cristina Hegarty 3.5 digs, and
Kylie Szczepanski 1.75 blocks per set.
Abigail Broussard and Saelens have five aces in the series.Â

Jacquelyn Clark averaged 3.13 kills and 1.13 blocks, Jadyn Mullen averaged 5.75 assists, and Kealani Ontai averaged 3.88 digs for the Warriors this season against the Eagles.Â

Northwest is second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and is fourth in the nation with 2.53 blocks per game. Szczepanski is 15
th in the nation at 1.21 blocks per game, and Broussard is 17
th nationally at 1.19.

Northwest is ranked 36
th in hitting percentage in the NAIA at .211.
Keann White carries a .264 average and is ranked fifth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Broussard leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference and is 20
th in the NAIA with .53 aces per game and 34
th with 50 aces total. The Eagles rank 49
th in the nation with 1.82 aces per game.

Corban is 19-7 on the season and is on a four-game winning streak. Cassie Cunningham leads the Warriors at 2.70 kills per game. Defensively, Kealani Ontai averages 4.28 digs, and Sarah Randall gets 0.82 blocks per game.
