ASHLAND, Oregon – Northwest lost in three sets to seventh-ranked Southern Oregon Friday, 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.
 
"SOU played like the championship-caliber team they are and defeated us in every phase of the game," said NU Head Coach Steve Bain. "We will put this one behind us and do our best to improve our effort tomorrow night."
 
Hannah Lord had seven kills and Kylie Szczepanski five blocks to lead the Eagles. Courteney Carr had 12 assists, and Anna Saelens added 10. 
 
Carr led with eight digs.
 
A kill by Lord and a block by Szczepanski and Sarah Howlett helped NU to a 3-1 lead early in the first set, but the Raiders rolled off seven consecutive points to build an 8-3 lead. SOU closed out on a 6-1 run in the first set.
 
The Raiders scored the first four points and led by as many as 10 in the second set. SOU used an 8-0 run to take early control of the final set.
 
The Eagles wrap up the regular season Saturday in a 5 p.m. match at Oregon Tech.
