SALEM, Ore. – Northwest improved to 3-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with a 78-71 win at Corban Friday.

It is the first 3-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference start for the Eagles since the 2016-17 season.

"We were worried about the layoff, but the guys did a good job getting the first road win after a two-week layoff," said NU Head Coach
Jeff Drinkwine.

Ryan Ricks scored 20 points, and the Eagles got double-doubles from Hussayn Ford and Cesar Sandoval. Ford had 16 points and 11 rebounds, with Sandoval getting 10 points and 11 boards.
Tanner Davis had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Ricks knocked down five three-pointers in nine attempts and helped the Eagles establish the lead in the first half. He had two three-pointers in the first four minutes of the game.

Corban fought back and took a 28-27 lead with 5:25 left in the first half. Ricks answered with a three-pointer, igniting a half-ending 15-3 Northwest run. Ricks and Davis had six points each in that final five minutes as the Eagles took a 42-31 lead.

The Warriors pulled within five points with 13:10 left in the game, but NU responded with a 13-2 run with four different Eagles contributing points. Northwest led 65-49 with 7:54 to go.

Ford and Davis led the Eagles with five assists. Christian Hakilimali turned in a strong outing with seven points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
Kelvin Omojola had two points and three assists in his season debut.

Beau Roggenbach led Corban with 15 points.

Now 3-0 in the CCC and 7-4 overall, the Eagles move on to Eugene, Oregon, Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. contest with Northwest Christian.
