Eagles Finish Regular Season Strong

PORTLAND, Ore. – Northwest University (11-19 overall, 8-12 CCC) has definitely showed strength in the second half of the season, and tonight was no doubt a reflection of what this team is capable of accomplishing. The Eagles beat the Multnomah Lions 74-56.

After a slower night last night, Stacona put up 17 points. Kristinat added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Langenhorst and Van Loo each had 11 points, with Lagenhorst grabbing 11 rebounds for another double-double on the season. The Eagles found their rhythm, shooting nearly 40% from the field. This allowed them to lead nearly the entire game.

Milan Woods led the Lions with 13 points and 3 rebounds. In the previous matchup, Sequoia Wheeler hit a game-winning buzzer beater to defeat the Eagles 77-75. Northwest University came into this game with a plan and was able to contain Wheeler to 8 points and 5 rebounds.

Head coach Ken Crawford remarked, "We had a strong showing by the Lady Eagles tonight, and we demonstrated good team effort as we clinched the number seven seed in the upcoming conference tournament. All the fun starts on Tuesday."

The Eagles will continue to participate in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament on Tuesday night at 7pm. Their opponent will be either Corban or Oregon Tech, depending on the result of Corban's last regular season game.
