Olympia, Wash. – Northwest University (13-15, 5-11 CCC) defended well against Evergreen State College (5-19, 1-15 CCC), earning a well-deserved win. They took advantage of matchups and won the game 81-62.

The Eagles took control from the beginning, leading 39-32 at half. Five combined first-half threes from guards Ryan Ricks and Jase Paulsen helped get points on the board. In the second half, Hussayn Ford got into a rhythm, tallying 19 points and grabbing nine rebounds, just in the second half alone. In the full 32 minutes he played, Ford had 25 and 14, including a perfect 3-3 from the charity stripe.

The Eagles shot 53.1% from the field and 41.2% from deep, scoring 50 of their 81 points in the paint. The defense truly won the game for the Eagles, limiting the Geoducks to 30 points in the paint and only 23 rebounds in the game.

Alex Smith had another impressive outing in his senior year, with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
