Bellevue, Wash. – Northwest University (3-14) gained the upper hand in the first game but lost in the second against Carroll College (8-12) as the two teams finished their weekend play. The Eagles shut out the Saints in the first game, winning 3-0, but lost the second game 5-3.

Game one – Northwest University 3, Carroll College 0

The Eagles gained an early advantage to start out the day, hitting two homeruns in the first inning to score the only runs of the game. Sam Parisio hit the first homer to left field, giving herself the RBI and the score. Alexis Contreras hit the second homer to center field, bringing in teammate Nicola Fish and providing two runs for the team.

Isabella Gonzalez pitched for the Eagles, giving up only five hits in the game and pitching three strikeouts.

Game two – Carroll College 5, Northwest University 3

The Saints managed to score the first run of the game off a ground-rule double. The Eagles responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first. One came off a single from Alexis Contreras, and the second came off a walk from Laurissa Lee, allowing Sammi Caron and Nicola Fish to score. A two-run homer from the Saints in the fourth inning gave them the lead, but the Eagles quickly responded, as Courtney Heard ran in off a single from Contreras to tie the game 3-3. Although the game could have gone either way, the Saints managed to put the pieces together in the sixth inning to pull off two unanswered runs to win the game.
