Â
The Eagles scored two runs early in the game and held their lead the rest of the way. The Eagles first scored in the second inning, as Mikayla Wells singled to right center field, which brought Nicola Fish home. The next inning proved to be equally successful for the Eagles, as Alexis Contreras ran home after a single from Nicola Fish.
Â
No more scoring happened until the fifth inning, as the Loggers scored off a bunt. Their lone run turned out to be a fruitless effort, however, as the Eagles held on and shut them out for the last two innings, securing a Northwest victory.
Â
Isabella Gonzalez pitched for the Eagles, throwing four strikeouts and allowing only two hits in the game.

Game two – Northwest University 2, University of Puget Sound 1

Unlike the first game, the Eagles could not get themselves on the scoreboard until the sixth inning of the game, when they scored two runs off one hit to take the lead. The hit came from Carly Tighe, who singled to right field and brought baserunners Fish and Contreras in for the score. The Eagles had been fighting an uphill battle until the scoring hit, as the Loggers had gained a one-run advantage in the fourth. The game ended when the Eagles stood their ground on defense in the top of the last inning and allowed no hits.
Â
Mattea Nelson pitched for the Eagles and allowed only five hits in the game.
Â
Head coach
Pam Fink remarked, "It feels good to get the sweep! Bella and Mattea pitched well! We got the hits when we needed them. It was a fun night, and I'm proud of their grit!"
