Medford, Ore. – Northwest University (1-8, 0-3 CCC) lost two more games on Saturday as Oregon Tech (14-6, 3-0 CCC) completed their weekend sweep of the Eagles. The first game ended in a 10-1 mercy-rule loss for the Eagles, who are still looking for their first conference win of the year. The second game ended in another mercy-rule loss for Northwest, although the game was not considered a conference game.

Game one – Oregon Tech 10, Northwest University 1
Â
The game stayed close for the first four innings, as the Eagles held the Owls to two runs. They also managed to score in the fifth inning after a double from Jessi Nunes brought Carly Tighe to home plate. This brought the score to 1-2.
Â
However, the Owls had a quick and formidable answer in the bottom of the fifth, when they scored five runs to put them up 7-1. A scoreless sixth inning from the Eagles, followed by a walk-off homer from the Owls, ended the game in six innings.

Game two – Oregon Tech 9, Northwest University 1
Â
In the second game of the day, the Owls came out swinging, scoring eight runs in the first three innings. The Eagles were unable to respond with much positive offense and did not score until the fifth inning, after Sammi Caron hit a single to bring Jessi Nunes home.
Â
In the bottom of the sixth inning, up 8-1, the Owls needed only one run to get ahead by eight and force an early, mercy-rule finish. A single from Oregon Tech's Jacey Conklin did just that, and the Owls quickly closed out their weekend sweep.
