Bellevue, Wash. – Northwest University (8-18) lost two close games against the College of Idaho (24-6), who is receiving votes to be nationally ranked. The Eagles lost both games by just one run, losing 3-2 in the first game of the day, and getting shut out in the second, with a score of 1-0.

The Eagles started the game with an early run in the second inning, as
Isabella Gonzalez singled to right center field, bringing in Jessica Nunes for the score. The Eagles held the Yotes for a few innings, until the Yotes scored three consecutive runs to take the lead. In the bottom of the seventh, Mikayla Wells got on base after a defensive error from COI. Sammi Caron then doubled to right field, and the Eagles got the score from Wells. Three more at-bats for Northwest proved unsuccessful, and the Yotes got the close victory.

Isabella Gonzalez pitched for the Eagles, allowing eleven hits and throwing three strikeouts in the game.

Neither team found much success on offense early in the game, as the first and only score came in the fourth inning, when the Yotes hit a double to center field for the score.

Samantha Parisio had the lone hit in the game for the Eagles, who did not see much offensive effort translate to their own scoring total.

Rachel Hawley had an outstanding pitching performance, throwing ten strikeouts and allowing only three hits!

Pam Fink commented, "Bella and Rachel pitched lights out. We need to find the run support. We've got to come up with timely hits and get better quality at-bats. We were one hit away in both games."
