AZUSA, Calif. – Northwest University sent twelve athletes down to California to compete against some of the best athletes in the country in the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Cal State LA Twilight Open, and the Beach Invitational. These meets draw several large NCAA Division I schools from across the nation and allow Northwest to see how we compare. Head coach
Mark Mandi summarized the events by saying, "Yesterday and today had its ups and downs. Anna and Riley both had a rough outing, but I know they will bounce back just fine. I know they wanted to compete well this weekend, but days like this happen. Our 800m runners ran fantastic today, with Grace and Ellie both running big season bests and Emma taking a big chunk off her 800m PR! It was great to see the three of them engaged early and battle hard through the pain. Overall, I loved the team's attitude. They've supported one another extremely well. This trip to LA was a great experience for our team, and I know it will help make us better."
