KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest opens the home portion of its season Saturday against Central Washington at 3:30 p.m.

Northwest, ranked 20th in the NAIA Preseason Top 25, is off to a 0-1 start after falling 2-1 at Fraser Valley on Sunday, but panic would be premature. Last year's NAIA quarterfinals team scored just twice and lost their first five contests.

The Eagles scored a 4-1 win on the road in this matchup last season in Ellensburg. Rylee Rassier, who had the only NU goal Sunday, also scored last season against Central Washington.

Saturday's game does not count for Central Washington, whose season officially opens Sept. 5 at Fresno Pacific.

NU Head Coach Bryan Chud enters the game with 39 career wins and lacks seven to tie the school career coaching wins for women's soccer. Erin Redwine stands at 46.
