KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest opens the home portion of its season Saturday against Central Washington at 3:30 p.m.
Â
Northwest, ranked 20
th in the NAIA Preseason Top 25, is off to a 0-1 start after falling 2-1 at Fraser Valley on Sunday, but panic would be premature. Last year's NAIA quarterfinals team scored just twice and lost their first five contests.
Â
The Eagles scored a 4-1 win on the road in this matchup last season in Ellensburg.
Rylee Rassier, who had the only NU goal Sunday, also scored last season against Central Washington.
Â
Saturday's game does not count for Central Washington, whose season officially opens Sept. 5 at Fresno Pacific.
Â
NU Head Coach
Bryan Chud enters the game with 39 career wins and lacks seven to tie the school career coaching wins for women's soccer. Erin Redwine stands at 46.
