KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest women's soccer returns to action Saturday in Idaho, taking on Northwest Nazarene at noon (Pacific).
The No. 20 Eagles are looking for their first win after one-goal losses to Fraser Valley and Central Washington.
Rylee Rassier scored the lone NU goal in the season opener Sunday. Rassier and Sarah Hommas share the team lead with 2.5 shots per game. They are tied for fifth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Kat Sanchez has recorded eight saves in each of the first two matches this season and enters Saturday with a goals-against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .842. Her 16 saves are No. 8 in the NAIA and she is 17th in saves per game. Sanchez leads the conference in saves and is tied for first in saves per game.Â
This game is non-counting as an exhibition for the Nighthawks. NU will be the second exhibition on the schedule for NNU, which shelled the College of Idaho last week, 3-0. Sierra Sanchez had a goal and an assist for the Nighthawks. All three goals came in the second half.Â
