KIRKLAND – A couple of injured starters spelled rough times for Northwest University on Saturday in a 3-0 loss to Northwest Christian.
The Eagles, playing without libero
Cristina Hegarty and outside hitter
Hannah Lord, struggled to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-11 loss.
Abigail Broussard and
Sarah Howlett had seven kills each, and
Courteney Carr had 19 assists.
Defensively, NU got a block and two assists from
Kylie Szczepanski and four block assists by Broussard.
"NCU was clearly the better team tonight and came out on top in every phase of the match," NU Head Coach Steven Bain recapped. "Hopefully, we will learn from the disappointment and make the commitment to play with the conviction and intensity required to be successful at this level."
Now 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles travel to College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon next Friday and Saturday.
