KIRKLAND – Northwest returns home Thursday for a home match at 7 p.m. against Walla Walla.

 

The match is the home return match from Sunday when the Eagles scored a 3-0 win at Walla Walla. Keann White had 12 kills, with Sarah Howlett throwing down 11. Courteney Carr had four aces and 23 assists, and Abigail Broussard added six blocks. Sarah Halversen led WWU with 11 kills. The Eagles had a .333 attack percentage for the day.

 

Three Eagles have cleared the 100-kill mark this season. Hannah Lord has 111, followed by Broussard at 108, and White at 102. Lord leads the squad with 2.52 kills per game.

 

Northwest is the only team with two players in the top five of the Cascade Collegiate Conference in hitting percentage. White is second at .280, and Broussard is fifth at .274. The Eagles are third in the league at .197.

 

Carr (7.04 assists per set) and Anna Saelens (3.31) together average more than the team average. 

 

Broussard leads NU with 17 aces. Five Eagles have reached double figures in aces this season: Broussard (17), Tatiana Ensz (14), Hannah Michaels (12), Carr (12), and Saelens (11). The Eagles are second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference at 1.7 aces per game.

 

Cristina Hegarty leads the Eagles with 4.74 digs per game and 218 total digs this season. Hegarty is third in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in digs per set.

 

Broussard has been a part of 56 blocks to lead NU. She also leads with nine solo blocks. Kylie Szczepanski averages 0.98 blocks per game and has been in on 42 blocks this season. The Eagles are fourth in the league and 24th nationally with 2.22 blocks per game.

 

Walla Walla is 1-12 overall this season and in the throes of a 10-match losing streak. The Wolves took a set off Evergreen State Saturday, marking their only set win in the current slump. Sarah Halversen leads the team with 2.23 kills per game and 10 aces.
