Women's Soccer Visits Puget Sound Saturday

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest gets back on the road Saturday, taking on Puget Sound in Tacoma at 1 p.m.
 
The No. 20 Eagles, 1-2, are coming off their first win of the season and ready to start a winning streak. NU had win streaks of two, three, and five games last season.
 
Rylee Rassier got the game-winner on a penalty kick last week in NU's win at Northwest Nazarene and now has two of the three Northwest goals this season. 
 
After collecting eight saves in each of the first two games, Kat Sanchez was tested only four times last week at Northwest Nazarene. Sanchez has 11 saves on the season. 
 
Northwest averages 9.3 shots per game, led by Callie Wright with nine. Wright, who also leads the team with six shots on goal, got her first collegiate goal last week at Northwest Nazarene.
 
NU Head Coach Bryan Chud picked up his 40th career win last week and is six victories shy of the program record of 46, held by Erin Redwine.
 
Puget Sound enters the game at 1-1 on the season after a break-even trip to Illinois. The Loggers bounced back from a 3-0 loss at Wheaton to collect a 3-0 win against Hanover. 
 
Kylee Roath scored two goals in that second game, with Gabbie Berg getting the third. Rahdi Webster Schutz and Ceann Romanaggi had assists. UPS has delivered six shots per game. 
 
In goal, Chaylea Tome has 11 saves and a 1.50 goals-against average. 
 
Puget Sound is the preseason No. 3 pick in the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference after being the automatic postseason qualifier from the conference last season.
