KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest volleyball launches its Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule this weekend in Portland with matches at Warner Pacific and Multnomah.
 
The Eagles, 2-4 this season, take on the Knights Friday at 7 p.m., before moving on to MU at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
 
NU went 12-8 in the Cascade Conference last year after opening with a 3-1 loss at Evergreen State. 
 
Hannah Lord leads NU with 2.62 kills per game, followed closely by Abi Broussard at 2.56. Northwest averages 10.85 kills per game. The Eagles swing at a .170 pace, led by Broussard at .270 and Keann White at .246. Broussard is fifth in the Cascade Conference in hitting percentage.
 
Broussard leads the team with 87.5 points and 3.5 points per set. She has 64 kills, seven aces, and a team-leading 27 blocks. Lord is second with 76 points and 2.62 per game. Courteney Carr leads Northwest in assists per game at 8.50, which ranks her 48th in the NAIA. Carr is fourth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in assists per game.
 
As a team, the Eagles are 42nd in the NAIA in blocks, averaging 1.94 per set. Broussard leads the team and is 37th nationally with 1.08 blocks per game. She is third in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Eagles are fourth in blocks per set in the CCC. Cristina Hegarty is 26th in the NAIA with 5.5 digs per game and 48th with143 total digs. Hegarty ranks second in the CCC. Northwest is fifth in the conference team stats in digs per set.
 
With nine aces, Tatiana Ensz leads the Eagles with 0.4 aces per set.
 
Warner Pacific is off to a 1-3 start after a weekend at the Lewis-Clark State Tournament. WPU swept Columbia Bible but lost 3-1 to Montana Western and dropped two matches, 3-1 and 3-0, to Lewis-Clark State. Haley Yoder leads the team with 3.39 points per set, including 2.79 kills per set. Yoder also leads with a .275 attack percentage. Lauren Jones leads with .71 blocks per set, and Mercedes Massey gets 4.5 digs per set. NU won 3-2 at WPU last season. Keann White had 17 kills and four blocks in the match. Yoder had 13 kills for the Knights.
 
The Lions are 1-0 on the season with a 3-2 win over New Hope Christian and take on Evergreen State Friday ahead of the NU match. Taryn Frey had 16 kills, and Danae Stokes had 13 in the match. The Eagles won 3-2 at Multnomah last season, with Keann White collecting 12 kills and seven blocks. Kylie Szczepanski was in on 10 blocks.
 
After these two road matches, NU returns home for its regular-season home opener against conference foes Corban (7 p.m., Sept. 13) and Northwest Christian (5 p.m., Sept. 14).
