Wright Inks with NU Volleyball

KIRKLAND – Northwest University volleyball inked Log Church Christian School senior Karste Wright for the 2020 season.

Wright, a 5-11 attacker from Brewster, was the league MVP and Brewster High School Athlete of the Year. She also plays interscholastic sports with BHS and club volleyball for North Central Washington Volleyball Club.

"Karste is as talented and hard-working an athlete that we have ever recruited to NU, and her court presence and intense, competitive demeanor will be an immediate asset to Eagle volleyball," said NU Head Coach Steven Bain. "As an attacker, Karste has the physical and technical abilities to score points on either pin, and her serve-receive and defensive skill sets provide the foundation to develop into a six-rotation player.  Karste's growth mindset and eagerness to learn are also a perfect fit for our training system."

The daughter of Gordon and Krista Wright, Karste is her class valedictorian. She attends Community Log Church and has volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club.

Also recruited by Corban, Wright said she chose NU because "I fell in love with the culture on campus, the desire for Christ in the staff, and the love I was shown by every person I've met here."

Wright joins Susanna Bailey, Allie Flynn, and Azaria Johnson in the 2020 NU volleyball recruiting class.

"Every recruiting class is important, but 2020 is especially critical, as we will graduate a deep and talented group of seniors next year," said Bain. "That is why we are elated with the young women who will be joining the Eagles next fall. They are as strong in the classroom as they are on the court, and they all have the character and mindset that will make them a terrific fit with our culture."
