PORTLAND – Northwest ran into the hottest-shooting team it has encountered this season and fell at Warner Pacific Friday night, 97-62.

Warner Pacific shot 62.3 percent from the field, marking the first time this season a team has shot better than 56 percent against the Eagles. The Knights also connected on 12 of 23 three-point attempts.

The Knights jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first seven minutes and led by as many as 25 points in the half.Â

"We did not show up tonight," said NU Head Coach
Jeff Drinkwine. "Warner shot well and beat us in every facet of the game. Hats off to them for their efforts. We have to forget it in a hurry, because tomorrow is another big challenge and opportunity to improve."

Northwest was led in scoring by
Dejwan Walker with 17 points. Ryan Ricks added 12, and Christian Hakilimali and Hussayn Ford contributed 10 each. The Eagles, who came in shooting just under 50 percent from the field for the season, hit 38 percent Friday.

Hakilimali, Ford, and
Tanner Davis had seven rebounds each, and Hakilimali led with six assists.

Miles Brown, on 11-of-14 shooting, led Warner Pacific with 25 points.

Now 11-6 overall and 6-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles stay in Portland for a 7:30 p.m. game Saturday at Multnomah.
