KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Northwest claimed its third consecutive road victory Friday after a seesaw battle at Oregon Tech, 58-55.

The Eagles controlled the first quarter with a 19-10 lead after shooting 50 percent from the field. NU forced five turnovers and did not allow any offensive rebounds to the Owls in the first 10 minutes.

Northwest led by as many as 13 points, 17-4, with 3:55 to go in the quarter.

The second quarter was all OIT, 22-10, and the Owls had a 32-29 edge at the half.

The Eagles trailed by five at three different times in the third quarter but stayed close and finished the period with back-to-back Kim Weeden baskets to pull within 44-43 heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter saw four ties and three lead changes. Down four, the Eagles got a pair of baskets by Lexi Biggerstaff to tie the game with 46 seconds left. After forcing an OIT turnover, Biggerstaff was fouled with 14 seconds left and made one of two free throws for a 56-55 lead.

OIT missed a potential game-winner with seven seconds left, and Sam Van Loo came down with her 11
th rebound of the night and was immediately fouled. Van Loo made both free throws.

The Owls missed on a last-second three-point try, and the Eagles celebrated the win.

Ken Crawford. "That was a big win over a strong OIT team. It was back and forth the whole game, and the Eagles prevailed at the end. We're back on the road again tomorrow night against Southern Oregon. Go Eagles!"

Van Loo led the Eagles with 14 points and 11 boards, with
Maya DuChesne adding 13 points, and Livi Lindsey contributing 10.Â

Northwest, now 7-15 overall and 5-7 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, heads to Ashland, Oregon, for a 5:30 p.m. contest against Southern Oregon.
