POCATELLO, Idaho –
Daniel Sharpe came off the bench to lead Northwest with 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals in an 89-48 exhibition loss at Idaho State Saturday.
Â
Cesar Sandoval added 10 points and five rebounds,
Tanner Davis scored seven points, and
Pa'Treon Lee threw in five points to go with five rebounds.
Â
The Bengals closed the first half on a 14-3 run to take a 42-22 lead at halftime.Â
Â
"Although the outcome wasn't what we wanted, we really needed to play," said NU Head Coach
Jeff Drinkwine. "After being off since Dec. 15 and not being able to practice that same amount of time, it was good to play a game."
Â
Northwest returns to action Wednesday with a 6 p.m. contest at Seattle Pacific.
Â
"We certainly showed signs of being off but had some bright spots as well," said Drinkwine. "We play again next Wednesday, and we look forward to the opportunity to show improvement with a game under our belt."
