Eagles, Carroll Finish in 1-1 Knot

HELENA, Mont. – Northwest posted its second consecutive draw Friday afternoon, collecting a 1-1 tie at Carroll College.

The Eagles have played in six overtime periods in the last three matches–all against teams from Montana–with the last two ending in ties. NU beat Providence in the second overtime period a week ago.

The constant through all three contests is the lone Northwest goal being scored by Elliot Misic. Misic scored his ninth goal of the season after intercepting a pass and blasting a shot past one defender and the keeper to tie the game.

NU played a man down for 18 minutes after a collision on a loose ball led to a red card against the Eagles. Alexander Thiehofe had four saves from there, including a diving stop.

"Playing on the road is always tough," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We faced some adversity today, having to play a man down, and I thought we handled the situation really well. We continue to get chances but nothing that allows us to find that second or third goal. Getting a point on the road is good, and now we will focus on Sunday's game."

Northwest had nine shots in the game and got shots on goal by Misic, Brayden Corwin, Gian Herrera, Titus Nickson, and Tyler Siedenburg.

Alexander Thiehofe had 11 saves for the Eagles.

Now 5-3-2 overall and 1-2-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles travel to Walla Walla for a Sunday contest at 1 p.m.
