KIRKLAND – Northwest finishes off a five-match road swing with a 7 p.m. contest at Evergreen State in Olympia on Tuesday.

Evergreen State won a hard-fought 3-2 match in Kirkland last month. Lily Stewart had 20 kills, and Hannah Rongen added 14 kills and three aces for Evergreen State. Lily Stewart and Amaya Carter had seven blocks each, and Sierra Wolff got 56 assists. For the Eagles, Susana Bailey led with 17 kills, while
Abigail Broussard added 15 to go along with four blocks.
Anna Saelens had 56 assists, and
Cristina Lorenz got 17 digs.

The Eagles are 29-10 all time against Evergreen State, but the Geoducks have not beaten Northwest in Olympia since 2013.Â

Evergreen and Northwest are square at 7-6 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings. The teams are travel partners, meaning they have the same opponents left on the schedule. Both are six games out of first place and tied for fifth place.Â

The Eagles are coming off of a weekend sweep in Portland, taking down Multnomah 3-0 and Warner Pacific 3-1. In their last outing, Broussard had 18 kills, and Bailey posted 14. Broussard also had four aces and six blocks. Saelens put up 47 assists and 13 digs.
Azaria Johnson and
Megan Horne tacked on four blocks each, and Lorenz collected 19 digs.

Saelens averages 9.62 assists per set this season and has 635 total assists. She also has done her other work at the net with a team-leading .354 attack percentage and is third with 32 blocks.

With the emergence of Bailey on the outside, the Eagles have a stronger attack. Broussard leads the team with 3.10 kills per set, and
Megan Horne follows at 2.80. Bailey has lifted her average to 1.92 with 52 kills (3.25/set) over the last four matches.

Lorenz leads the back row defense for the Eagles, getting 4.24 digs per set. She has 280 digs this season.       Â

Kalei Kepler came on strong last weekend, getting eight blocks in the two matches, and in her limited playing time is averaging a team-high 0.82 blocks per set. Abi Broussard leads the Eagles with 50 blocks, followed by
Azaria Johnson with 41 and
Anna Saelens with 32.

The Geoducks are 7-7 overall and 7-6 in the conference after getting 3-0 weekend sweeps at Warner Pacific and Multnomah. Stewart leads ESC with 3.32 kills per set with Zoe Shaw right behind at 3.18. Wolff gets 9.22 assists per game. Rongen leads the net defense with 0.94 blocks per set, and Sage Burgmeier manages the back row with 4.26 digs per set.
