KIRKLAND – Northwest got back to the winning side of life with a 3-1 win over Multnomah Saturday and strengthened its hopes of a postseason berth.

"This was an important win for us to get today," said NU Head Coach
Gary McIntosh. "It keeps us in the playoff race. It was also good to see three different guys score goals. Overall, it was a good performance for us today, and we will build on this win as we get ready to face Evergreen next week."

The Lions had the lead briefly when Danie Borba scored in the 28
th minute.Â

That goal seemed to spark the Eagles, who evened the score 80 seconds later when
Elliot Misic avoided a charging MU goalkeeper and punched the ball forward for the tying goal in the 30
th minute.

Tyler Siedenburg tapped home his first goal for the game winner in the 78
th minute, with
Frederik Marten adding the assist.

Tyler Hopp beat the MU defense for the final margin in the 84
th minute.
Northwest had 14 shots on the afternoon, led by Misic with five and
Jonathan Toscano with two. Misic also had four of the Eagles' nine shots on goal.
Brayden Corwin, Hopp,
Angel Ventura,
Noah Prophet, and Siedenburg tested the keeper once each.

Alex Thiehofe got the win in goal, collecting one save.

NU improves to 8-5-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Eagles host Evergreen State Saturday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m.
