KIRKLAND – Northwest finishes off its four-match homestand this weekend with a 2 p.m. contest against Walla Walla on Friday and a 5 p.m. match with Lewis-Clark State on Saturday.

Northwest is alone in fifth place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings at 9-7. Lewis-Clark State is in a battle with the College of Idaho and Southern Oregon for playoff contention at 7-9. Walla Walla, at 0-16 in the league, was officially eliminated from postseason contention with Tuesday's loss to Lewis-Clark State.

Northwest made quick work of Walla Walla on the road in September, allowing just 43 points to the home team in a 3-0 sweep.
Abigail Broussard had 12 kills, and
Anna Saelens got 35 assists for the Eagles. Gabrielle Browning led the Wolves with 10 kills.

NU is 15-0 against Walla Walla in the all-time series. The Eagles also have won the last 37 sets, including all 33 games as conference foes.Â

Lewis-Clark State scored a 3-2 win over the Eagles in Idaho last month after NU forced the tiebreaker from being down 2-0 in sets. Broussard and
Megan Horne led NU with 13 kills each.
Cristina Lorenz led the back row with 13 digs.Â

The Warriors have a 7-3 lead in the all-time series, but none of those contests have been played in Kirkland. The Eagles are 3-1 against Lewis-Clark State in matches not played in Lewiston.

Northwest moved to 10-11 on Saturday with a thrilling 3-2 win over Southern Oregon.
Susanna Bailey tied the school record with 24 kills, while Broussard added 22, and Saelens picked up 65 assists.
Azaria Johnson had seven blocks, and
Cristina Lorenz got 27 digs.

Broussard is 33rd in the nation. She has 248 kills, 47 aces, eight solo blocks, and 54 block assists.Â

Broussard, Horne, and Bailey are giving the Eagles eight kills per set. Broussard leads the Eags with 3.1 kills, followed by Horne at 2.74 and Bailey at 2.24. Broussard leads that trio with a .291 attack percentage.

Cristina Lorenz leads the Eagles with a 4.25 digs-per-set average. She has 336 on the season.
Kelsey Cummins has also been a contributor on the back row at 1.97 digs per set.     Â

Walla Walla is 0-17 overall and 0-16 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after a three-set loss to Lewis-Clark State. The Wolves have won two sets this season, both at home against Warner Pacific in a 3-2 loss. Browning leads WWU with 3.08 kills, 2.5 digs, and 0.68 blocks per set.Â

Lewis-Clark State enters the weekend at 12-12 overall and 7-9 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Warriors play at Evergreen on Friday before making the trek to Kirkland. Cassidy Nelson leads LCSC with 3.45 kills per set. Jada Wyms averages 0.81 blocks, and Kenzie Dean checks in at 4.42 digs per set.
