KIRKLAND – Northwest continues its road swing this weekend with a trip to Portland to take on Multnomah on Friday at 7 p.m. and Warner Pacific on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Multnomah requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for anyone 12 and older. Warner Pacific requires masks to be worn. Both live streams this weekend can be accessed through NUEagles.live.

Northwest is 6-10 overall and 5-6 in the league after falling to No. 13 Eastern Oregon on Saturday, 3-1. Susana Bailey had 13 kills, and
Anna Saelens added 31 assists.
Kelsey Cummins led the defense with 10 digs.Â

Abi Broussard and
Megan Horne are combining for 7.3 points per set this season. Broussard averages 2.97 kills, 0.57 aces, and 0.59 blocks per game, while Horne gets 2.93 kills, 0.22 aces, and 0.36 blocks.

Saelens averages 9.41 assists per set this season and has 555 total assists. She also has done her other work at the net with a team-leading .366 attack percentage and is third with 30 blocks.

Cristina Lorenz leads the back row defense for the Eagles, getting 4.1 digs per set.        Â

Broussard and Azariah Johnson lead the team in blocks with 0.59 per game. Both have 36 total blocks.

The Eagles are 11-0 all time against Multnomah in volleyball. NU has won five of those matches in Portland. The Eagles won 3-0 on their last trip to Multnomah.Â

Northwest needed four sets to knock off the Lions in Kirkland last month but dominated in the fourth set, 23-9. Jocelyn Porter led MU with 12 kills. Alyssa Mehalovich had 15 digs. Hannah McPhetridge had three block assists.
Megan Horne had 21 kills and 10 digs to lead the Eagles.
Anna Saelens had 44 assists.
Azaria Johnson had six blocks, and
Cristina Lorenz added 25 digs.

Multnomah is 3-9 overall and 2-9 in the Cascade Conference after getting swept at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon last weekend. Danae Stoke leads the Lions with 3.03 kills per set, and Rachel Bailey averages 7.41 assists. Lauren Porter has 17 aces. Alyssa Mehalovich leads the squad with 4.44 digs per set.

NU is 26-7 in the Warner Pacific rivalry. Northwest has won the last 12 matches, including the last five played in Portland. The Eagles won 3-0 in Portland in 2019, keeping the Knights under 20 points in each set.Â

Northwest was dominant last month, sweeping the Knights. Grace Buchanan led WPU with 11 kills. Horne had 14 kills, Saelens added 32 assists, and Broussard added six aces. Lorenz had 19 digs.

Warner Pacific is 1-13 overall and 1-10 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after losing at Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech last week. Grace Buchanan leads the team with 4.52 kills per set. Jaliza Lazaro has 15 aces. Sabah Mohammady leads the back row with 3.04 digs per set.
